Have you heard of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library? It is a free ‘book gifting’ program that is available to any child, from birth until they start school, no matter what the family’s income is.

The program was launched in 1995 and has grown quickly with over one million books mailed by 2003. There are programs available in the  United States,  Canada, the United Kingdom, and even Australia!

You can visit the site to register your child, find out more about the program, donate, or even start a program in your area. Unfortunately it isn’t available in my area but I have signed up for email notifications.
