Maximize Your Pantry with $5 a Week

Hey y’all,

I hope you are doing well. You’ve probably noticed that a lot of my posts this year are some older posts and some of them include YouTube videos about various topics that I have spoken about before. Well, my time has been stretched a bit and I want to make sure to share information that I find helpful so sometimes when someone asks me about something that I’ve already posted about I don’t want to rewrite a whole new post so I might just update the old one or just reshare it if the information is still good.

Then sometimes I find YouTube videos that seem pretty helpful, and sometimes they are on subjects that I have been wanting to post about but just haven’t had time so I decide that it is best to share the video with you instead of waiting to get the post written because the list of posts that I intend to write keeps getting longer and longer.

I have many posts about our pantry and it is an important part of our everyday life but I do realize that some people don’t even know what pantry staples they should have to start with. This is a helpful video series that I found for building your pantry with just $5.00 a week. These suggestions will definitely help add flavor and variety into your meals and you might even learn to make a few new meals that become family favorites.

We also really like to have Pantry Challenges to help use up and rotate through our pantry stockpile. These challenges also help us to find gaps that we might need to fill in so that we can be better prepared in case of emergencies and such. We are also able to see what things we don’t eat so that we can stop buying those items as well.

Pantry Challenge Week

We’ve also posted about our pantry organization in multiple posts but the truth is that you don’t have to have a dedicated pantry area. You can store things anywhere that is cool, dry, and easy to access. We do really like the metal shelving that we currently use because it is so versatile. I do have plans for a dedicated pantry space but that will have to wait a bit as we have to finish some other remodels to relocate our closet area as our closets will become the new pantry… sounds more complicated than it is but that should be a future post.

DIY Walk-In Pantry Makeover #2

The area has had a little makeover since that post but a lot of the organization is the same although I did swap out the shelves for a cabinet that we already had. We moved the shelves to our bedroom for a temporary pantry ‘overflow’ area but I really prefer the open shelving.

Livingroom Remodel… it looks so good!

It has actually changed a bit since these photos too… lol. Please ignore the messies… this is actual life here and you can see that this area is a multipurpose area for everyone.

This just shows that you don’t have to have a dedicated space … you can just keep rearranging your house… just kidding. I’ll get it right eventually!

You can do a little at a time and it will still make a difference. Check out those videos for some ideas of what you can add to your pantry or you can splurge and stock up if you happen to have a little extra money. Just make sure to use what you have and keep a good rotation system up so you don’t end up with cases of expired goods!

We hope someone found this a bit useful.

Have a blessed week!
