This is the cake my 4-year-old chose for his birthday this year.

I started with 12 regular cupcakes and 7 mini cupcakes. They were arranged in the general shape on a large tray and then iced.

After that, we cut the bony plates out of tootsie rolls and added starburst polka dots to complete the design. The eye was a softened white chocolate chip with a tootsie roll center.

He also requested a special cupcake with sprinkles… lol.

It was a big hit with all of the kids and not too hard to pull off.
