I know that Christmas is fast approaching and many have already gone over their holiday budget but I wanted to let you know about a special organization that has touched my heart deeply over the past couple of years.

They have been on our prayer list for a while now and in our daily thoughts and prayers so I don’t know why I haven’t shared about them before but now is better than never.

I know that there are so many charities that are asking for donations at this time of year but this one really touches my heart.

Help A Child Foundation

Despite many challenges this group works to provide the children with food, shelter, and education. These are things that we take for granted so much of the time and it really breaks my heart to know that they might not be able to have anything special to celebrate the holidays with.

They work with what they have available to provide meals for them.

Many times the meals consist of ‘Posho’ which may sometimes have beans or cassava added.

Store-bought bread is a treat for them when money allows as they don’t have reliable access to flour and other ingredients to make bread.

While many children all over the world are dreaming of toys and electronics under the tree these children would love to have some meat in their bellies or maybe they have dreamed of having a sweet treat… they work so hard and they are so young that they can’t fully understand their situation.

Despite their circumstances, they send us photos and videos of them being silly kids and my kids love interacting with them.

We have shared so many successes with gardening and they are looking to find ways that they could raise their own poultry as well. I love to see the smiles on their little faces when they are harvesting the fruits of their garden or learning their lessons.

They have other challenges that they face daily. Recently they lost the roof of their shelter. Thankfully, they were able to find shelter in a nearby church until the funds could be obtained to gather the necessary materials to make the needed repairs.

There are so many other restrictions in place that prevent them from being able to acquire the basic things they need.

Things like being able to purchase food, go to school, and own animals. It is truly heartbreaking as I listen to the way things are… it doesn’t seem possible that people are still living in these conditions in this day and time.

This group goes above and beyond to make sure these children are safe and secure and loved…

Jesus tells us to give to the needy and to help those who are sick or hungry… Oh, how I wish I could bake a big box of goodies to send to them but that probably wouldn’t make it through customs so the only thing I can do is to ask others to help me to help them get a little something special for Christmas.

Any little bit would help and maybe if they received a surplus they could put it towards their dream of getting poultry in the upcoming year.

No matter how bad their situation is they always stop to pray for others around them. It is amazing to know that we have these sweet children praying for us just as we pray for them.

I pray that God will bless and multiply every gift that is sent and that He will provide an abundance of blessings to those who are receiving these donations as well as an abundance of blessings to those who are giving.
