I know there has been a lot of talk about self-sufficiency and I’ve even written about it a bit but can anyone truly be self-sufficient?

I believe that honestly we cannot truly be self-sufficient as we are designed to be dependent on GOD. It is through HIM that all blessings flow … HE provides for our every need …. we can do NOTHING without him.

GOD is truly self-sufficient on HIS own. HE created the earth from nothing and HE made everything on the earth… NOTHING that any of us can do can compare to that!

Yes, we should care for ourselves and our families but HE is the one who gives us life, strength, and the ability to do what we do. If we don’t admit that to ourselves then we are foolish.

We will be constantly running here and there, be filled with anxiety and worry, and we won’t truly enjoy life. That isn’t what HE wants for us.

If we acknowledge that we are dependent on HIM then HE will direct our paths. HE will show us the ways to go and HE will provide us with the knowledge and ability to do what we need to do.

We must acknowledge our shortcomings, our weaknesses, and our vulnerabilities. We must hand them over to GOD and HE will equip you with everything you need to do what HE needs you to do.

This isn’t a sign of weakness but strength as we are admitting our limitations and putting our trust in GOD! By surrendering our will to HIS will we are trusting in HIS plan and by thanking HIM for HIS provisions we develop gratitude. When we acknowledge that we need HIS help we begin to build our resilience as we trust in HIM to give us HOPE and STRENGTH to face our challenges.

Letting go of the self-sufficient dream can be hard but realizing that we are nothing without GOD is life changing! If you are struggling today keep things together or you feel like you are falling behind then I encourage you to give your worries, your cares, your life, and your family to GOD. You’ll wish you did it sooner!
