Whew! This year is flying by at warp speed! I completely forgot to update you all about our St. Nicholas Day this year, but I did post a video on YouTube that I will post below.
We let the kids make their own Santa Pancakes with fresh fruit and whipped cream… yummy! We also had a few things in their stockings, as well as a few little candies. We read the book, ‘Saint Nicholas: The Real Story of the Christmas Legend.’ I will link it below.

After breakfast, we put up a small tree… it goes on the wall and was very scraggly, but I was able to ‘pretty it up’ with some leftover craft supplies from last year. It really is a beautiful little tree and it fits perfectly in the space we had!

That evening, we had a small feast in honor of St. Nicholas and all the good that he did. I will definitely be trying a different dessert recipe, as we weren’t extremely fond of the one that is linked. I almost did a hot fudge sundae cake, and I think that would have been a bit more enjoyable… maybe make it with some black cherry ice cream to represent the ‘hidden works’ like the story with the link.
It was a lovely evening, and just a fun tradition that helps keep the focus on JESUS while explaining the idea behind Santa Claus.
We pray you all have a very BLESSED HOLIDAY SEASON!
GOD BLESS!
