Finding Peace Amidst the Noise

There are so many things I could write about, as we have been focusing on PEACE this month in our home. I have noticed ways that we can eliminate things to bring PEACE, and other things that need to be changed. We have had several appointments this month, and something that has struck me is how LOUD this world is.

I know my house gets loud from time to time as we have a lot of people here, but the world seems to be even LOUDER than I remember. There are more choices to make than ever, and it seems like everyone is so busy chasing the newer, better things in life. They believe that these will make their lives easier and better, but the truth is that no one will ever find PEACE if they keep chasing these material things.

The truth is we need less, less noise, less distractions. We have forgotten how to live simply.

We have forgotten how to pause and rest. When was the last time you spent any time outside?

I saw a video that mentioned that most Americans spend 90-95% of their time indoors. Most inmates in prison are required to have at least an hour outdoors!

Most importantly, we have forgotten who we belong to… GOD. HE loves us unconditionally and HE can bring us the PEACE that we so desperately need.

GOD designed our bodies and our environment to work together. We need to find our way back to HIM and ask HIM to bring us the PEACE that we so desperately need.

Sometimes I watch my little Shyanne and I love how she can be happy and content in any situation. If something upsets her she usually take a few deep breaths and be fine again.

If that doesn’t work the some outside time will do the trick. She LOVES to be outside. I do too but I definitely don’t get out as much as I should right now.

I’ve been trying to get back in the habit of going out every morning. I set up a table by the back door where my greenhouse is. It is the perfect spot to watch the sun rise and set… or both.

This is the place that helps you ground me when life seems too LOUD or too much. It might not seem like a PEACEful place for some, but that’s ok.

When the weather warms a little, I will be spending more time in the greenhouse and then the garden. There is just something about walking amongst the plants that brings a PEACE to my soul. I’ve done many video walks through the garden but the feeling doesn’t quite translate through… you might find them calming though.

I also try to take a few minutes, several times a day, to just close my eyes and breathe. I remember that GOD has plans for me and my family and that helps me find PEACE.

We can find GOD in the stillness and silence… waiting for us to slow down so we can hear HIM. We’ve forgotten how to listen for HIS voice. Take some time today to slow down, get quiet, and rest your mind so you can tune in to HIS voice.

I pray that this may help someone in some way.

GOD BLESS!
