Stomach Bugs, Garden Bugs, and a Bathroom Remodel

Whew! What a week… we finally got started on our master bathroom remodel but it is far from being completed. When we started peeling back the flooring we found that this was not the first time the floor had been ‘fixed’ and we also found more of the drywall mud patches on the floor like we had found in the kitchen and laundry room. We also found that some of the previous fixes included glue and nails which made the removal process more tedious but more on that in a bit.

Our garden has been coming along quite well other than a surge of pests which are eager to eat all of the food we’ve been working so hard to grow. The weather has been extremely hot but we have been getting a few showers that have helped. I did invest in a couple of new sprinklers that I’ll try to share about later. We have been putting up a few more videos on YouTube as well if you’d like to check them out.

10,000 Before 10:00

We all know that setting goals can be a good thing, right? They can help motivate us towards bigger and better things in life. This isn’t any new fad that I’ve heard about but rather a goal that I’ve set for myself.

I recently purchased a smartwatch from Amazon… I’ll add the affiliate link down below if you are interested. I had originally bought it to keep track of my blood pressure and heart rate as I’ve had trouble with them in the past and just wanted an easy way to keep up with it. This connects to my iPhone as well which is pretty nice.

The watch also keeps track of steps so I started noticing how much I walked every day… on the days when I watered the garden I would get quite a few steps in. The first time I hit 10,000 steps before lunch I was amazed. This may not be a HUGE feat for everyone but it seemed pretty big to me so I decided to make it a goal to get 10,000 steps before 10:00 every day.

It wasn’t that hard to do until we got sick and now I’m working my way back up to it but it did feel good to get moving and it motivated others around me to move more as well. The kids have been trying to outdo me in the mornings and Mr. Awesome was also inspired to get his own watch so he could track his steps too. I’ll link to his watch down below too... it might make a good Father’s Day gift.

Maybe this isn’t a goal for you but what goals can you make to better your life and your situation?
