Pandemic changes

How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?

Wow! This was a question I’ve actually been thinking about a lot lately.

Our lives have changed a lot since the pandemic… I’m sure others can relate to this as well.

We had just moved into our current home and I was pregnant with little Shyanne… what an experience! It was a high risk pregnancy and I had to attend most appointments alone.

The pregnancy and complications made that time more difficult in itself. It was definitely one of the most challenging experiences of my life… even without the added challenges from the pandemic.

Biblical Feasts: Fall Feast Resources

Here are some posts and resources we have made regarding the Fall Feasts:

Fall Feasts

Feast of Trumpets/Rosh Hashanah:

This is the day that we are reminded that Jesus will be coming back and the angels will blow trumpets to signal his return! The kids love this one as they get to blow the Shofar.

Day of Atonement/Yom Kippur:

This is a solemn Feast day, often accompanied by a 24-hour fast, when we remember the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross to atone for our sins.

Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot:

We are reminded that God sheltered the Israelites after they left Egypt. We are also reminded that Jesus ‘tabernacled’ or lived among us for a while, and that God will rebuild the Earth, and everyone will be taught the laws to live by.

Think ‘Thanksgiving’ and Christmas rolled into one… so much to be grateful for and so many ways to show our thankfulness for all of God’s blessings on us!

Feast of the 8th Day/The last great day:

We are reminded that God will resurrect those who have died, and we will be reunited with our friends and family. This will be the GREATEST DAY EVER!

Garden updates

Sorry ya’ll… I’ve been a little MIA her lately as we’ve been busy with our gardens and greenhouse.

We’ve put a lot of plants in the ground and made a few changes around the gardens. We’ve also added a few new planting areas.

I’ll post a few picture below but we do have a couple of slideshows up on our YouTube channel as well.

Essential Tips for Emergency Preparedness

Howdy folks!

How have you been? It’s been busy here, as usual, and I’m writing this post a few months before it will actually publish so in real life I’ve just planted my winter garden. I’m pretty excited as this as I haven’t actually done this before but I am looking forward to having fresh veggies in the next month or two!

I love to garden so for me I don’t see this as part of a ‘prepper’ thing but for many people learning to garden is part of their emergency preparations. I am always looking for new suggestions on ways to better prepare our family for emergencies. We recently had two really bad hurricanes (Helene and Milton) that caused a lot of devastation in widespread areas.

Fortunately, we were not severely affected by either one but it did show us some ‘weak’ areas that we needed to fix. After Hurricane Debby (before Helene) we lost a freezer which made us realize that frozen foods would not be a very sustainable option in a long-term emergency.

While we aren’t supposed to live in fear I do feel that the Bible tells us to be prepared. Joseph helped Egypt prepare for the famine that was to come and helped save a lot of people.
