This has been one of our favorite Holiday Recipes for the past couple of years, and everyone looks forward to getting these as gifts. The cover photo is from last year, when we used Rosella Jam for the filling!
The recipe and instructions are very long and a little time-consuming, but you could also buy the premade crescent dough and use that in place of the sourdough. You would just use the filling of your choice, a glaze or icing, and then bake about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
These are one of Mr. Awesome’s absolute favorite things to eat when we have a seafood night. They are so much better than store-bought mix brand and you can make them to your liking. I couldn’t find my recipe box the other day so I just whipped up a batch of the storebought kind and Mr. Awesome knew right away that something was different.
I got this recipe a long time ago when I was working at a small restaurant. The cook was such a sweet old lady and she shared quite a few ‘secrets’ with me that have helped me over the years. This is a new take on an old recipe that I’ve had. The kids (and myself) love breadsticks. I especially love the Cheesy Bread from Hungry Howies. This may not be quite as good but my kids don’t complain and neither do I as it is much easier than driving 20-30 minutes one way for an order.
