I recently came across something that made me question why I keep doing what I’m doing for FREE… I didn’t question it for long as GOD reminded me that I once was the person who couldn’t afford even $1.00 for access to recipes or an ebook full of tips to help me with whatever situation I was facing.
I don’t want to make things harder for anyone and the article I found was actually an ebook for moms who needed help with routines… I read through some it and part of it was ‘word for word’ something that I had written here on my blog many years ago. This was disheartening to know that someone has taken the information I have given out for FREE and that they are potentially making a profit from it, but that’s ok because I know that GOD wouldn’t have allowed it if HE didn’t have a purpose for it.
I have played around with ‘subscriber only’ posts and access, but I don’t want to do that because I don’t want to hold back information from anyone who really needs it. I don’t require anyone to sign up for my emails or require any fees for anything that we do. If you happen to find any of my articles that are asking that then be sure to let me know in the comments and I will fix it right away. There were only a handful of them as I quickly found it to be more work for me in the long run.
We just pray that everyone can be blessed by something that we offer for FREE here on our blog or by the videos that we make on YouTube… yes, it would be nice to generate a little extra income, but that is not why I do what I do. I originally set up my blog as a place to record memories and save recipes for my children and extended family that we don’t get to see as often as we would. It gradually became a place where I could share things as well, and we are so grateful for each and every person that has visited our site here and our YouTube channel.
We don’t have a specific ‘niche’ or angle that we are working because our lives are CRAZY and we don’t have the time to focus on just one area… we just choose to share our LIFE experiences in the hopes that it will help someone. We do use affiliate links for some products that we use, but this does not generate much income at all for us… (less that $10/year).
We pray that this blog will continue to help others and bless others as it has blessed us.
