Rice Krispie Treats

These are so easy to make and I know people have been making them for ages but I found the recipe in my binder and thought I’d share it. These also work well for making different shapes and for using when making fancy cake decorations! There are a million things you can add into these to make them a little extra special so let your imagination go… the kids love helping with these too! Continue reading “Rice Krispie Treats”

Chocolate-Dipped Goodies

This recipe can be adapted for so many uses from those candy-coated spoons, to pretzel sticks and even marshmallows or cookies. The kids always have a ball helping with this and this is one of our favorite activities when we are preparing for a Polar Express Party. These are also great for gift-giving. Kids have a lot of fun helping with these treats! Continue reading “Chocolate-Dipped Goodies”

Rolo Cookies

I haven’t made these in a while but I was reminded of them the other night when I was talking about how much I miss having our Polar Express Parties. Hopefully, we will be able to start this tradition back up soon! Continue reading “Rolo Cookies”

Crockpot Applesauce

I don’t post a lot of ‘canning’ recipes on here because most of what I know about canning is in my head. I just do things the way I saw them done when I was young and I can’t really guarantee the accuracy of all of them.

This recipe here is a good one for canning and giving out as gifts though. It never seems to stick around that long here though because my kids LOVE applesauce and I love that I know exactly what’s in it. This recipe can also be used for the Crockpot Apple Butter! If you decide to use this for Apple Butter you may want to omit the sugar and seasonings.

I miss them so much already but I am so happy to report that they made it safely with almost everything they had tied on the back of their truck… the vacuum cleaner was not so fortunate. They are working on getting settled in and preparing to have their first Christmas away from family… I am so proud but it makes me sad too!
