Successful days start with successful mornings
I’m trying so hard to get ahead of the chaos that having a large family brings but I also know that there will be days. Days when NOTHING seems to go right, days when EVERYONE seems to get up on the WRONG side of the bed, days when NOBODY wants to listen or behave … the list could go on but I think we all get the idea.

One thing I’ve been trying hard to do is to get up a little early. I did this before and somehow fell out of the habit yet again but this is one habit that I am really trying to bring back. This starts by making sure that I get to bed at a decent time. This also means that I’ve really been trying to make sure that little Miss sleeps in her own little bed instead of wallowing all over me and Daddy in our bed.

With grocery prices skyrocketing around here, I’ve really been trying to shop for some of the cheaper produce even if we’ve never tried them before. Last week I picked up a couple of acorn squash… I mean we do like most squashes so I figured we would like them too.
I’m sure there are a ton of ways that these could be prepared but I just couldn’t pick a recipe so I went with something similar to what I’ve done with other squash before.

You may not know this but January 15th was National Bagel Day and we celebrated by making some sourdough bagels for the first time and they did not disappoint. I have always been a little intimidated by bagels and pretzels but now I know it is actually pretty easy to make the bagels so the pretzels will be next on my list… hopefully before National Pretzel Day. (April 26th is National Pretzel Day, in case you were wondering!)
