Are you tired of sitting down every week trying to figure out what to feed your family? I know how overwhelming meal planning can become, especially when life gets busy!
Years ago, our family started using a simple system called perpetual meal planning, and it has made such a difference in our household. I’ve shared some of our original meal planners here on Pollywog’s Place over the years, but recently I decided ours needed a little updating.
So, I got creative and designed a brand-new Perpetual Meal Planner Printable Bundle, complete with charming hand-drawn elements, coordinating pages, and plenty of practical tools to help make mealtime easier!

What Is Perpetual Meal Planning?
The idea is simple: Create a meal plan once and use it over and over again!
Instead of starting from scratch every week, we create a rotation of our family’s favorite meals.
Here’s how our system works:
- Breakfast and Lunch: We assign our favorite meals to each day of the week, repeating them weekly.
- Dinner: We create a list of 31 dinners, one for each date of the month.
- Start Over Each Month: On the first day of a new month, we begin again with Dinner #1, regardless of which weekday it falls on.
For example, if the first falls on a Monday, we might have cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and spaghetti for dinner.
It’s that easy!
We typically use the same meal rotation for a three-month season before switching things up. Of course, nothing is set in stone! We swap meals, use leftovers, and make adjustments whenever needed.
The goal is to make life simpler, not more complicated.
What’s Included in Our New Planner Bundle?
I wanted this updated collection to be both beautiful and practical, so I’ve included plenty of coordinating printables to help organize your kitchen and family meals.
Inside you’ll find:
- Blank perpetual meal planning templates
- Recipe cards for your family favorites
- Grocery shopping lists
- To-do lists and planning worksheets
- A coordinating binder cover and divider pages
- Special occasion meal planning pages for birthdays, holidays, and celebrations
- Easy-to-follow instructions and additional planning pages
The hand-drawn details add a little old-fashioned charm, while the blank templates allow you to customize everything to fit your own family.
You can print the pages you need, organize them in a binder, and reuse your completed menus month after month.
Less Planning, More Living!
One of the things I love most about this system is how much time and money it saves.
Instead of wondering what’s for dinner every afternoon, I can simply check the planner. Grocery shopping becomes easier, we can plan around what we already have, and it’s much simpler to make use of seasonal foods from our garden. We can also take advantage of seasonal sales to stock up for recipes that we will be making on repeat.
And because our menus are already created, there’s no need to reinvent the wheel every week!
Whether you’re feeding a large family, trying to stretch your grocery budget, or simply looking for a little more organization in your day, perpetual meal planning is worth trying.
