January 1-7, 2017 Meal Plan
This is our basic meal plan for the week. Sometimes we will switch the days around if I forgot to set something out or put something in the crock pot. Please feel free to use this or change it around to suit your family’s needs.
I do have ‘Snacks/Desserts’ listed as well. I always try to keep a bowl of fresh fruit out on the counter or table for the kids to snack on. Sometimes I will make a special snack or treat for us to enjoy.

Hot Fudge Sundae Cake
Oh my! This is such a wonderful dessert. I learned this recipe back in Home Ec. I’ve enjoyed making it for a long time now. Homemade Chocolate Syrup (with healthier options)
Chocolate should definitely have its own place in the food pyramid. This homemade syrup is so good and can be used for so many things like chocolate milk, over ice cream, on Protein Power Pancakes (3 variations), and on Hot Fudge Sundae Cake! With our updated version this is even better for you than before so you can still enjoy some of those sweet treats while on your journey to becoming healthier.
You can whip up a batch, or two, and keep it in the fridge for those special occasions. Continue reading “Homemade Chocolate Syrup (with healthier options)”
Upside-Down Meatloaf
This has got to be my number one favorite meatloaf recipe. We usually serve it with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. The whole family enjoys this one and even likes to have meatloaf sandwiches if there are leftovers. Sometimes I add a pack of Lipton Onion Soup Mix to this.
