Anybody Else Have The Day After Christmas Blues?

We survived Christmas! However the house is a complete wreck. I’ll post some pics below. This Christmas, actually this whole year, has been unlike any other before. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but it has been hard because we’ve been knocked out of routine so many times. However we always get back on track, eventually, and find our normal again. (Our normal varies from day to day with so many kiddos and their special needs.) Continue reading “Anybody Else Have The Day After Christmas Blues?”

Reblog: My Families Favourite Bible Verses

I don’t know about you but I have a list of verses scribbled in the front cover of my bible. These are tried and true verses that have comforted me in the past and I know I will need them again in the future.

This post reminded me of the importance of writing down those verses. Maybe one day one of my children will need and find comfort in those notes I have scribbled down. Check out this post and maybe start your own list:

Special Holiday Meals: National Ice Cream Day

National Ice Cream Day is the perfect day to pull out that old ice cream maker and make a batch of homemade ice cream! Click here to learn more about this holiday. It is celebrated on July 13th.

This might also be a nice day to plan an ‘Ice Cream Social’, where your friends and family can have an ice cream-making competition. Have everyone bring their favorite ice cream toppings, and everyone can make a different flavor too! We had this every year before school started when my older kids were little, and it was SO MUCH FUN!! We also had their birthday parties together at this time… knocking out a few ‘birds’ at a time!

Here are our favorite recipes for celebrating National Ice Cream Day:

Hot Fudge Sundae Cakeso good with fresh homemade ice cream!

Banana Splits

Fruit Cobbler with Ice Cream

Frappes
