Free Party Planning Printables!

Whew! What a year we had in 2023. We definitely had some ups and downs and lots of crazy unexpected things but we were so blessed to have spent it surrounded by friends and family who loved us!

This year, I am determined to streamline a lot of my processes and make things a little less stressful… I long for the days when I was so organized and things seemed to go smoothly with little effort. I know a lot of that has been due to things we had going on so I’ve been working on getting things back on track here. I find that breaking big projects into smaller bite-size pieces helps me out a lot.

Around the holidays I started working on this packet to help me with my Holiday/Party Planning. I can print out a new packet or just make copies of a blank one and keep them in my Holiday Planner. Then I’ll be able to jot down notes and ideas as they come to me throughout the year which will hopefully make things a lot easier as the year goes on. I have also updated my calendar with reminders about checking on upcoming events.

Feel free to use these if you want, if not I’ll just leave them here so I can find them easily! There are some prefilled pages as well as some that have been left blank for you to customize to fit your needs.

Have a great day!

Getting Ready for the Holidays Week 6 (The week of Thanksgiving)

Thanksgiving is almost here and I can’t wait! Over the past few weeks, I’ve posted about some of the things we are doing to help prepare our homes for the holidays and hopefully prevent a little of the CHAOS. We will continue to review those things and work on a few more things this week. Our list is as follows:

  1. We will take a little extra time during our weekly ‘Home Blessings’ to make sure that everything is cleaned, windows are shined, and floors are swept, mopped, and vacuumed.
  2. I will be checking my Holiday Planner for the timeline of things I need to do to prepare for Turkey Day. ex: defrost turkey, clean oven, clean kitchen, empty fridges, get out centerpieces, etc.
  3. I will review the menu lists in my Holiday Planner so I can add all of the perishables to my weekly grocery list so I can get them purchased ASAP and not have to make a last-minute grocery run on the day before as things will definitely be CRAZY and many shelves may be EMPTY!
  4. I’ll review my list of ‘make-ahead’ items and try to knock out a few of them so there will be less to do at Thanksgiving.
  5. I will pull out some of those Thanksgiving activities that I found earlier and let the kids work on them while I work on other things. The kids will help with preparations when they can but there are some things that I just want to do myself.
  6. If we have decided to do any Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping we will review our planned lists and budgets.
  7. I’m also trying to plan to do the 3 gift rule here this year but I’m not sure how it will go yet. I’ve got some links about this idea HERE, HERE, and HERE. This will hopefully encourage the focus to be more on Jesus than Santa and the gifts he will bring.

Most of all we will do our best to be thankful for all the family and friends that we have been blessed with and try to create some special memories with them during the holiday season! We pray that you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving!

The Story of the Treasure Seekers Quiz – FREE Printable with answers!

It is often said that necessity is the mother of all inventions and I guess that probably is pretty true. I’ve searched high and low for a quiz to go along with the book that the kiddos are finishing and haven’t been able to find one.

I decided to make one and I figured that I might as well put it here on the blog so that others can find it as well. There are two choices to choose from as I know some kiddos do fine with written answers and others really need multiple-choice questions.

It’s not absolutely necessary to purchase the exact books we used but there may be other variations out there. We read this version:

Starting the New Year Off Right with Bill Organization!

These are a couple of older posts but the information still holds true and I am still using those printables… last year I didn’t print off a new set and things got a little confusing as I was trying to just ‘reuse’ the old ones but I’ve already printed out my new ones for 2023 so I can get a head start.

I also went ahead and wrote down the balances on any accounts that I am working on paying off so I can keep track of my progress… it feels so good to pay something off! We are slowly climbing out of debt even though we’ve had a couple of rough years. We’ve been making repairs to the house whenever we get the cash saved for a project while trying not to go into debt for anything else.

Sometimes we have to go without something for a bit or we have to wait a bit longer than anticipated but the money we save in the long run is a great bonus. With the increased costs of EVERYTHING, we need to save money every place we can!

Having all of your bills organized so you aren’t forgetting about due dates and such can save you a lot of time and money because hopefully, you won’t have as many late fees. I keep a simple pocket folder in a desk drawer with a place for my printouts and any incoming bills for easy access. It truly does make paying bills an easier process although it can still be a bit painful on the wallet.

Here are the links to the posts and printables if you want to check them out yourself!
