Biblical Feasts: Feast of the Trumpets Menu & Activities

If you’ve been around here for a bit, then you probably know that we have been on a journey to learn more about the Biblical Feasts. Well, the Feast of the Trumpets is almost upon us, and I decided that being prepared makes it more likely that I can follow through with the intentions of celebrating this year.

We plan to try to incorporate some traditional dishes, and we plan to eat by candlelight whenever possible. Please note that I am not an expert, and most of these ideas are just ideas that I have, and I can not say that they are traditional or ‘allowed’ for a traditional Jewish celebration.

Wine or Grape Juice is normally served with meals as well, although we will probably opt for sparkling juice, apple cider, or juice.

You can change whatever recipes you need to make this work for you… you can even buy premade foods and make this work. The idea is to celebrate your BLESSINGS and show THANKFULNESS to GOD.

Creamy Whipped Icing

We make a lot of birthday cakes around here and sometimes people don’t want their icing super sweet like our buttercream icing so I’ve been working on making a less-sweet version and this one seems to be a winner!

If you don’t care for cream cheese you can try it with butter, but we really don’t mind the hint of cream cheese in ours. This also reminds us a lot of the icing we use for my husband’s favorite bean cupcakes… so good! We don’t use any sugar or flour in those and no one ever knows any different!

Cheesesteak Skillet

I actually first saw this recipe on the YouTube channel, Fearfully Created, and had to try it out. With the prices of groceries going up, we have made some modifications to make this more budget friendly and everyone agrees that it is very yummy! When eating low-carb, we will use some keto friendly buns or cauliflower in place of noodles.

You can add whatever toppings that you like but we usually like onions and bell peppers. We also add mushrooms to the ground meat to make it a little more nutritious. You could sneak some more veggies in there too.

Note: I forgot to add the garlic to the original recipe but I’ll try to update that.

Sowing in Grace & Abundance: A Faith-Based Chaos Garden Guide & Devotional

I’ve been so busy and so sick… these two things don’t go together, but I think I am on the mend now. I’ve missed a couple of deadlines that I had set for myself and I wasn’t able to get a couple of things posted on the blog, but I’m trying to catch up a bit. Maybe I’ve just set my goals too high for this year? I won’t give up on them though… the timeline just might get altered a little bit.

I know I’ve done some videos on CHAOS GARDENING, and I know it isn’t for everyone, but it can be fun. It is also something that kids can help with. I’ve put together a little guide with some suggested seed mixes to try. I also find gardening helps bring me closer to GOD and can really help me when I’m feeling a bit stressed… I combined this garden guide with an optional devotional, if you’d like to give it a try.

I’ve also added some edible flower suggestions to the guide. This method of gardening works really well when you have a bunch of old seeds that need to be used up too… does anyone else have that problem?
