31 Days of Prayer for Estranged Family & Friends

There are some things we can fix with our own hands.

We can mend a broken fence, replenish tired soil, prune an overgrown plant, and tend a struggling garden back to health.

But we cannot force another person’s heart to change.

Estrangement from a child, parent, sibling, other family member, or dear friend carries a unique kind of grief. We may long for another conversation, another chance to listen, an opportunity to apologize, or simply an open door where there has been silence.

Sometimes, after we have done all we know to do, the only thing left is to place that person into God’s hands.

That is why I created 31 Days of Prayer for Estranged Family & Friends: A Journey of Surrender, Healing, Forgiveness & Restoration.

Comfort Foods for Cold Weather Cravings

I don’t know what it is about the cooler weather that makes me want a bowl of something hot, but I sure have been wanting some here lately… I usually have my cup of coffee in the morning, and then the weather warms up through the day, so my craving fades.

I wanted to gather our favorites here in one post so I can find them a little easier and share them with you… just in case you have those same cravings! These are also the perfect ‘comfort foods’ for sick days or times when you just feel a little down. Beverages

Dandy Morning Coffee

Ms. Shirley’s Hot Apple Cider

The Best Hot Cocoa

Susie’s Sweet Teawe like to drink it warm in the winter, or we will make single-serve cups of herbal teas!

This emergency meant that we needed to focus on other areas of the house… things that we had planned to do in the future- after the bathroom.

Another project took over so that we could create another room in the house and it is finally finished. There are some touchups to complete and I know there will be some furniture changes in the future but it is finished for now… at least until after the upcoming baby shower.

I’ve been wanting to put a wall up between the breakfast area and the den for long time. I created a wall and separated the area in so many ways over the past few years that I felt confident that a wall would be beneficial. You can see some of the many ways that this space has changed HERE.
