This past week has been colder than usual here with winter weather advisories, freeze warnings, and even snow in some areas of Florida… we didn’t get any snow but 10 minutes north of us had some flurries. A bit west of us got almost 10 inches of snow! I wasn’t really upset that we didn’t get any snow but the kids were a little disappointed.

Garden Updates, Greenhouse, Flower Planting, and a Pantry Challenge
Hey everyone!
How is your new year going so far? We’ve been busy as usual and trying to get as much done as we can before the summer comes… although these lower-than-normal temperatures have been making that a little difficult.

Our gardens are still going and we are so thankful for that as we have really been enjoying the food that we are getting from them. Up until a week ago we still had tomatoes and green beans… the tomatoes don’t look too happy at the moment and the green beans are a little sad too but I think they might pull through when we get past these crazy temps.

We have loved growing this plant and we have enjoyed trying it out in many different dishes… plus it is so pretty!
Just wanted to share this article about Rosella.

We were able to make 8 pints of jam… 2 have been eaten already! I used the recipe from the Self Sufficient Me site to make the jam.
If we harvest more then I would like to dry or freeze some to use for tea. I think a rosella/lemongrass blend might be nice!
Have you tried Rosella? If so, please let us know what you think and share your favorite recipe for it in the comments below.
God Bless!
Wedding prep to Hurricane prep – updated with product links!
Oh, what a week!
We had such a crazy week preparing for the wedding this past weekend… it was beautiful and amazing! We definitely couldn’t have done it without the help and support of our family and friends… thank you all!
We don’t have a lot of pictures to share yet but I will share some when I can… I can’t wait to see them.
Unfortunately, a lot of the pictures were missing or lost somehow… I guess we should’ve had a backup person taking more photos.
I was so busy I didn’t even get to take many pictures at all. We did find a site, weduploader.com that gives you a QR code so that guests can upload pictures that they take… it’s pretty neat!
This first photos didn’t load properly so I’m trying again…

Hey guys!
How are you doing? I’m hoping all is well and that you have been enjoying your summer.
We’ve been working really hard around the house and the property even before we knew that we’d be having some very special celebrations happening here. One of the areas that we started on was what the kids are calling ‘The Secret Garden’… I guess it’s not really a secret now because I’m telling everyone about it but I won’t tell them that. It’s also not really ‘hidden’ yet but as the plants fill in it will be a bit more of a secret spot.
