Oh, What a day! Freezer meals, Pinterest Suspension, and No Toilet Paper

Oh my goodness, what a day I’ve had and it isn’t even been lunchtime yet. I actually went to bed early last night as I was just so exhausted. Mr. Awesome had a meeting and wouldn’t be home until late so I made the most of the evening.

The kids helped me make Chili Dog Casserole for dinner. We made it a little bit different as we just put the hotdogs into hotdog buns, instead of tortillas, and then spread the chili sauce on top and sprinkled with cheese before baking.

Mr. Awesome is not crazy about the tortilla version so we decided to give it a try this way and it was a WINNER! Continue reading “Oh, What a day! Freezer meals, Pinterest Suspension, and No Toilet Paper”

Instructions for the Easy DIY Post It Note Loop Schedule at the end of the post.

Many of us have started back to school and some of us started and then quit…errr… well, maybe I’m the only one that did that but I am happy to say that we are well on our way to getting back on track. The big project I have been working on is finished (YAYYYYY!!!!) and I am hoping it will be ready to post this weekend so keep an eye out for it.

In preparation of our new school year I pulled out our old Loop Schedule so I could change it out for this year. What a better time to show you how I do it?

Last year one of the sanity savers I used was this Loop Schedule. You may have heard of Loop Scheduling and I thought it was something new but actually it was something I had already been doing and you probably have too!

I always start the year out with all kinds of fun activities, games, and ideas for us to work on. Before our Loop Schedule I was always trying to make sure we got the ‘meaty’ subjects like Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science finished before we moved on to anything else. If we didn’t get those areas completed we would just not do the other areas.

(These links will update soon and take you to our first Kirby’s Kids Academic Adventure!)

I always felt like we weren’t getting everything done that I wanted to get done. Our days got so BORING! We would be doing the same things over and over and never had time for the fun activities that I had planned for us to do. There’s only so much time in the day so what is an overwhelmed Momma to do? Chicken Pillows

This is a recipe that I have adapted from the Real Mom Cookbook. I love mushrooms and I love these. I usually saute the rest of the mushrooms from the pack and serve them with dinner. You could probably use canned mushrooms but I prefer to buy fresh ones.

The original recipe also has a sauce that goes with it but my kids don’t like the sauce and prefer to eat with their hands whenever they can. These are also great to make for parties or get-togethers. Continue reading “Chicken Pillows”

If it’s not the kids, it’s the cat…

We all know how it is to be working really intently on a project only to get distracted by something or someone. I know my kids never seem to need anything until I am working on bills, my blog, paperwork, or if I get a phone call. A phone call in itself can be a major distraction depending on the timing of it. Our ever changing homeschool routine

This was an old blog post from my previous blog where I talk about our homeschool journey and our routines that help me keep my sanity! Just reading over this has given me a little inspiration for changing a few things that aren’t working right now.
