Start Your Holiday Prep: Weeks 1 & 2 Guide

The next two weeks, we really need to start gathering our ideas and materials for upcoming holidays… this is something I have done for over a decade to keep from feeling so rushed and frantic before the holidays. We still have those last-minute things that pop up, but everything runs pretty smoothly for the most part.

I really wish I had developed this system a LONG TIME AGO! I will post every week to help keep myself on track and maybe help others also… who knows, maybe I can try to do a quick video about these on YouTube as well!

Here are the links for the whole series:

Ultimate Holiday Planning: A 12 Week Strategy

We are working on weeks 1&2 right now, and so can you! I’ll even try to create a printable for each week to make things a little easier!

Getting Ready for the Holidays Weeks 1 & 2

You can also print out the Event Planning Guide or the Planning Notebook under the Printable Library Tab to help you get started with your plans!

Be sure to leave some of your holiday plans and ideas in the comment section below!

God Bless!

Easy Cinnamon Roll Recipes for Every Occasion

Did you know that October 4th is Cinnamon Roll Day? Well, they are pretty good, so I can see why they have their own day, but we don’t need a special day to eat them around here. We do have them requested pretty often for special days though as my older kids don’t get to have them as often as the ones who still live at home.

Here are our favorite Cinnamon Roll Recipes:

Making Memories: Rustic Backyard Garden Wedding Menu

Oh my goodness, Y’all! I just realized that I never posted the wedding menu from last year… and here we are almost a year later! Thank goodness for my Holiday Planner… I’ve got my notes 🙂 Thankfully, some of the family and friends did offer to bring some of the food… that helped a lot.

Most of the recipes were able to be made in advance, so we spent the two days before the wedding getting all the food prepped. It was a lot of work, but we had a lot of family come to help, and many hands make light work, and God enabled us with the spirit of determination to get it done!

In my defense, I believe that I was waiting so I could post some of the photos, but sadly the photos were lost so we never got the ones we were waiting on… if you want to see what we have you can check out this post:

My Kids Surprised Me With Their Knife Skills!

I used to think letting my kids near sharp knives was a recipe for disaster. Turns out, it’s the exact opposite.

When kids learn real knife skills, they actually become safer in the kitchen. They gain confidence, take ownership of meals, and (bonus!) start helping with dinner instead of just asking when it’s ready.

That’s exactly what this free knife skills class for kids delivers: practical instruction, real safety techniques, and fun activities that make kids excited to cook. My kids surprised me and so will yours!

Sourdough Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

These are so good and we make them at least once or twice a year… we even included them in the wedding menu last year! The image used is not mine but I will add a photo when I make them the next time!
