If this is your first year homeschooling this is an important step to making sure you get your year off on a good start.

You don’t need a huge Pinterest perfect school area as I’ve talked about in this post but you do need it to be organized if you want to be successful. Having stuff here and there is a surefire way to get overwhelmed in a hurry. Trust me, I know this from experience.

Our main area is our dining table. We have some bookshelves which hold the majority of our books plus I have another shelf with the books I am using that are specific to our curriculum for this year. Continue reading “Is Your HomeSchool Area ‘School Ready’?”

If you haven’t seen my latest posts about homeschooling check out the links here but if you are only interested in what we have planned for this year, please keep scrolling.

Moon Day

**This post does contain affiliate links which help to support our blog.

So here I go again…. adding some more days to those crazy and unusual days that I’ve posted about before. This would be a great way to spice up a dull summer day when the kids are complaining about being bored.

July 20th is National Moon Day. It honors the first day that man set foot on the moon back 1969. It was declared a National Moon Landing Day by President Nixon in 1971. This is a great day to teach our kids about the moon and progress NASA has made.

You can find other ideas to celebrate on my Pinterest Board Homeschool: July. You can also find other ideas for other July Holidays there as well.

I’ve also got this great book that I’ll be reading to the kids on this day.

I’m thinking I might even get some Moon Pies and/or Astronaut Ice Cream for snack on this day to eat while they listen to the story. In addition to this book we may also check out some of these great videos and activities listed below:

Pull-Apart Cakes (Cupcake Cakes)

Lately, I have been making pull-apart cakes for birthdays. They are so much easier to serve and so much fun. They can also be a little bit of a challenge to design. Below are some of the cake designs we have attempted so far. Continue reading “Pull-Apart Cakes (Cupcake Cakes)”
