Celebrating Biblical Feasts

This is a book that I have recently purchased and I am anxiously waiting to receive it. I have been very interested in learning more about the Biblical Feasts for a while now and today I just happened to see something mentioned in a video which led me to do a Google Search, which led me to a bunch of information that I have saved in a file to look at later, which also led me to PDF preview of this book, which led me to actually purchase the book… WHEW!

Victory Garden Planning – January 2024

No catchy title line here… no time for that today as the kids and the dog have been WILD! I’m exhausted and it isn’t even lunchtime yet!

We are almost halfway through the first month of the year and I’m already behind on my garden duties! Granted, we have had some CRAZY weather here and the house remodel has taken first priority but things still have to get planned so we can try to have an even more abundant garden this coming year!

I’ve been working on some Planning Notebook pages soon but for now, I’ll just list some of the things I’ve been working on for the garden. I have been playing around with a new planning program called SEEDTIME. It really does seem like it will be quite the time saver as I’ve been keeping up with my gardening task on notecards in a small file system… quite cumbersome at times.

A Christ-Centered Thanksgiving and other Thanksgiving homeschool resources

This week we have been focusing on Thanksgiving with our homeschool studies. I had purchased ‘A Christ-Centered Thanksgiving‘** several years ago but just never got around to using it. This season I am trying to be a bit more intentional and I have included different seasonal activity slots into our school schedule to help me remember to look through what I have.

Polar Express 2022

Our Polar Express Party was a huge hit thanks to all the help from our amazing family and friends! I’m so glad that we decided to give it a go even though we don’t really have our house set up the way we want it yet… its better to work with what you have right now and not keep putting things off until everything is ‘ready’ or ‘just right’ because that day may never come!

The kids had a fun time and are already making plans for next year! I’ll share some photos of the setup.

Hot Cocoa for the win!

There’s nothing like snuggling up with a cup of hot cocoa after coming in from the cold… ok, ok, I know… it doesn’t really get that COLD here in Florida but I sure can remember some cold days from my

time further north and I still enjoy a nice cup of hot cocoa every now and then.

I can remember my mom making us a pot of cocoa on the old wood cookstove. We would sip as much as we could before we had to head out the door to catch the school bus… at one time we had to walk 1/2 mile uphill to get to the bus and in another place we lived it was an even further walk downhill… not much easier if the driveway was iced over.

Here are some of our All-Time Favorite cocoa recipes:

Cocoa In A Crockpot

Hot Cocoa (Powdered)

Single-Serve Hot Cocoa

The Best Hot Cocoa

Of course, you can always use the ready-made kind at the store too but there is just something a little extra special about whipping up some cocoa from scratch and the memories you make will be cherished for a lifetime!

You can also whip up some fresh cookies to go along with your cocoa for an extra special snack!
