We pray that your family had a wonderfully blessed Christmas holiday and that things are going well as you start the New Year. Here are some of the things we will be focused on this week:
- Hopefully, our house isn’t too much of a disaster but we will work on incorporating the new items in and gather items to donate to keep the clutter down.
- I will check our pantry and menu for New Year’s meal ideas so that we can be sure to have everything on hand.
- I will also review notes/ideas about Christmas and add them to our folders for next year.
- We will plan to take our tree down on or before January 6th. As we take down the tree and decorations I will try to make notes of what we need for the next year and donate what we haven’t used in a while. I will also try to take pictures or make a few sketches of how the decor was so we have it for the upcoming years.
- We will start back to our normal school schedule the second week of January so I will definitely be trying to get everyone back into routine so things flow smoothly!
- I will also be printing out some new organizational sheets to get my year started off right and to help keep me on track! I try to have a new calendar ready so that I can add birthdays, holidays, and appointments to it this week as well. This helps me to get a jump start on the year and look over things I may need to start planning for.
Life is crazy enough without adding holiday stress to it. The simpler we can keep things, the better in most cases and we are always trying to find creative solutions to things we need to get done. By spending just a few minutes a day working on these tasks it helps to get us prepared without causing a lot of unnecessary stress.
*Don’t try to do EVERYTHING all at once… we have gradually incorporated more ideas into our holiday season but there have been years when we just couldn’t do it all. The kids still had a great holiday season and everyone appreciated the special events more the next time we were able to have them. If you aren’t sure where to start then just try to think of the most special memories you had as a child and recreate them for your little ones!
