I will try to post a few recipes that should be fairly budget-friendly and easy to make for anyone wanting to learn to make things from scratch.
This month is full of special holidays, but I thought I’d start with Groundhog Day on February 2nd.
Special Holiday Meals: February Edition
We usually make a Woodchuck Pie, also known as a Shepherd’s Pie, and we have some of Phil’s Poppers on the side. There are a ton of variations to sides that you could make with this, but these are family favorites. Then for dessert we make dirt cakes with Nutter Butter ‘Groundhogs’… so cute.

Another recipe that I like to make in February is Gorgonzola Pasta with Mushrooms. It sounds more complicated than it is, and I love this, so I usually request it for my birthday meal. I like to pair this with a Spinach Salad and Garlic Bread. For dessert, I also like carrot cake for dessert. National Carrot Cake Day is February 3rd! I’ll have to find my favorite carrot cake recipes to share!

Next month, we have several fun holidays to prepare for as well, like St. Patrick’s Day… Creamy Cabbage and Fried Potato Cakes… yummy! There are a ton of fun and easy desserts to make as well, like Apple Sonker, Fried Apple Pies, and Strawberry Cream Cake.

Don’t be afraid to give these a try… you might just be amazed at what you can make.
Be sure to print out a grocery list so you can make sure to get everything you might need!
God Bless!
