LOVE is our theme of the month, and we are working on learning ways to show LOVE other than just telling someone that we LOVE them. Our kids have brainstormed some fun and budget-friendly ways to show LOVE for others. We want to learn to create memories without spending a fortune.
Some of the ideas we have come up with are:
- Pray for others
- Offer encouraging words to others
- Helping someone with their chores.
- Do a chore without letting them know who did it.
- Taking care of things on someone’s To-Do list.
- Fold the laundry for someone else.
- Compliment someone on something unique.
- Plant something special for someone
- Making a favorite meal or dessert.
- Take cookies to a neighbor
- Leave a nice note
- Help carry in the groceries without complaining
- Write a poem or a letter for someone special
- Read a book to a younger sibling
- Draw a pretty picture
- Make someone else’s bed for them
- Make breakfast in bed, or have a cup of coffee ready for them in the morning.
- Hold the door open for someone else
- Organize a surprise party – see our special holidays for ideas
- Do your chores without complaining
- Make a pretty card
- Smile at everyone
- Putting away phones and/or electronics while speaking to others.
- Hug someone
- Pick some pretty flowers to brighten their day
- Give a high five
- Play a game with someone, even if it isn’t your favorite game.
- Say thank you, and let people know that you appreciate them.
- Share something special with someone
- Sit and talk with someone about whatever they want to talk about.
