Monday Message: Seeing Your Blessings Through The Tears

I had planned to just ‘chill out’ this weekend and maybe work on our next Little House on the Prairie Adventure but lately, things rarely go as planned around here.

Friday had been rearranged for a very important event that didn’t happen because of a HUGE misunderstanding. To say I was disappointed would be a HUGE understatement but this event has been rescheduled for Wednesday, so fingers crossed that everything goes as planned.

Friday evening I had been binge-watching some Fixer Upper when a text came through. It was from Southwestern Produce to let us know that they had rescheduled the veggie pickup due to bad weather… well, that threw a little wrench in Saturday’s plans as I had already scheduled a few other things around the pickup but I quickly got to work a rescheduled things so I wouldn’t have to get up quite so early… yay! I still need to figure out a plan for next weekend as I already had plans for Saturday morning… Continue reading “Monday Message: Seeing Your Blessings Through The Tears” →

Life Update: Dentist Appointments, Bread Store, and New Glasses

This post actually started out as a different post but it got so long that I broke it down and decided to share this part of it with you today!

Things have been SO CRAZY BUSY here lately… I can’t tell you about everything we’ve been up to but I will let you know about a few things we have been doing down below. We are so excited about EVERYTHING that is going on and we just can’t wait to SPILL THE BEANS with EVERYONE!

For now, though I’ll tell you about some of our latest adventures here in our little cabin.

A trip to the movies

We took them ALL to see the new Lion King and it was so GOOD! My oldest son was a HUGE Lion King fan when he was little… and I believe he may still be very partial to the original but my younger kids only knew about the new Disney version of the series.

Well, I made this dish tonight and Mr. Awesome said he liked it so I knew I had to share it with everyone. This doesn't make it onto our menu plan very often but I have fixed to repeat a little more often. It does run a little bit on the more expensive side so it still won't make it as often as he would probably like.

Ohhhhhh… sometimes I hate our internet… I had already written this cute little post with pictures and everything only to have our internet glitch and lose EVERYTHING!

So here we go again…

Today was a bit extremely hectic and I really didn’t feel like cooking want to cook but the little humans who had been EXTREMELY loud and crazy today were really getting on my nerves and Mr. Awesome had only asked me a few times what we were having for dinner so I figured that I should probably go ahead and get dinner started.

(Those freezer meals I put together the other day were really tempting me but Mr. Awesome had already seen ‘steak’ on the menu so freezer meals were ruled out.)

Oh my goodness, what a day I've had and it isn't even been lunchtime yet. I actually went to bed early last night as I was just so exhausted. Mr. Awesome had a meeting and wouldn't be home until late so I made the most of the evening. The kids helped me make Chili Dog Casserole for dinner. We made it a little bit different as we just put the hotdogs into hotdog buns, instead of tortillas, and then spread the chili sauce on top and sprinkled with cheese before baking. Mr. Awesome is not crazy about the tortilla version so we decided to give it a try this way and it was a WINNER!

Oh my goodness, what a day I’ve had and it isn’t even been lunchtime yet. I actually went to bed early last night as I was just so exhausted. Mr. Awesome had a meeting and wouldn’t be home until late so I made the most of the evening.

Bye-Bye Monster Spray! aka ‘Bedtime Spray’

Have your kids ever climbed into your bed because they were afraid of the monsters under their bed? Well, you may need to make up some Bye, Bye Monster Spray to keep those pesky monsters away! Plus the lavender essential oil may even help your kids sleep a little better.

If you don’t care for lavender oil you can use just about any other oil that you prefer.
