Pizzelles

These dainty little cookies are a real treat. They take me back to my grandmother’s kitchen. Her neighbor would make these delicious little cookies and bring them over every so often. How I loved them! I can’t say that these are as good as the ones I remember but I really do enjoy them.

My kids are amazed at the details in each cookie too. You can play around with the flavors to make suit the tastes of your family. Sprinkle them with a bit of powdered sugar for an extra special treat! Continue reading “Pizzelles”

Crockpot Tortellini Soup

This is a fairly new recipe that we have added to our rotating menu plan. My DD17 made this one day when I was out of town and it turned out beautifully even though she didn’t add the sausage.

I believe I had seen this posted on a FB page and jotted down the ingredients on a scrap piece of paper. This just happens to be one of Mr. Awesome’s favorite dishes. I want to try it with some sliced smoked sausage as I think that will taste AMAZING! Continue reading “Crockpot Tortellini Soup”

Sopapillas

My kids just love saying this, Sopapillas (Soap-ah-Pee-yas)! These are so easy to make and can be eaten plain, with the cinnamon and sugar mixture, or topped w/whipped cream and strawberry preserves.

These have been a NO-NO for me as I have been trying to eat better but I figured out a way to make them a little healthier so we can still enjoy them from time to time. Continue reading “Sopapillas”

Skillet Chicken

This is a truly tasty dish that I really enjoy to prepare and eat. It does take a bit longer to prepare but it is so worth it! This is really good served with mashed potatoes to ladle the gravy over.

You could probably half the recipe or double it to fit your needs. Continue reading “Skillet Chicken”

Goulash

This meal looks amazing and smells so good when it is cooking. Sometimes I will add a little leftover spaghetti sauce to it too if I happen to have some sitting in the fridge. Continue reading “Goulash”
