I don’t know about you all but this week has been a bit crazy here even the weather is crazy. I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on 2017 and setting my goals for 2018. One of those is to improve my appearance and one of the easiest ways is with my clothes. If you saw one of my previous post you were able to see my 1st box from Stitch Fix . I was so happy and I am looking forward to my next box. Then I saw some exciting news in my email this morning!

My 1st Stitch Fix Box
Hey you guys! You’ve got to try this! @StitchFix delivers stylist-picked clothes to you w/ free shipping & returns. I am so excited as I just received my first Stitch Fix box and I am so in love. These were clothes that I definitely wouldn’t have picked out for myself but I love the way they look and they are all so comfortable. This was a Christmas gift I got for myself.
It was so easy to get it, I signed in and filled out my style profile. Then my stylist, Jenaha, picked out my outfits which were then sent right to my house for me to try on and decide what I wanted to keep. I decided to keep it all but if I hadn’t they sent a postage paid envelope to mail back the unwanted items.
You can take a peek at what all I got in this little video and if you want to give them a try you can use this link here. (Yes, I do get a little kickback if you order from this link here.)
It’s so nice to do something for myself every now and then. The fact that they offer Free Shipping and Returns is also a plus.
Happy New Year’s!

Skill Trek: Life Proofing The Next Generation Like Nothing Else
One of my New Year’s goals is to get more organized. Well, that is gonna take some time and I have had so much on my plate that it almost seems impossible. Plus I’m always trying to come up with fun and exciting lessons to teach my kids everything they need to know.

Sometimes I worry that I am missing things like teaching them to tie their shoes… yeah my 4 and 5-year-olds need to work on this school as it was something I’ve just overlooked. This made me wonder how many other skills have I overlooked? What other skills do my kids NEED to know to be successful in life? How am I possibly gonna find time to research all of this and put lessons together?

Blackberry Pig in a Poke with a Brown Sugar Glaze and a Traditional Glaze
You can read more about how this recipe came to be HERE. After reading through my copy of ‘The Dinner Calendar‘ I have since learned that this was probably more of a steamed pudding dessert.

A Special Christmas Treat
Ok, so I’m not entirely sure what the real name for this should be but this is the name we came up with last night. Papa D has been talking about this dessert that his Granny would make and how much he enjoyed it and would love to have some. The only problem was no one had the recipe nor did anyone know the real name for it.
When he explained it to me I thought it sounded similar to the Blackberry Dumplings my mom-mom always made. Yummmmmmmy! So for the past few months, I have been researching and trying to find this mysterious recipe. I’ve gone through some of my old cookbooks and then looked online too. I’ve found many similar recipes but nothing that seemed to fit what he was describing so I figured I’d just kind of ‘wing it’ and make my own recipe. Continue reading “A Special Christmas Treat”
