What do you do when life gives you dirt?

You grab a couple of friends, a couple of dump trucks, and you play in it… of course! Well, that’s what our kiddos did over the weekend. We did get a total of 12 loads of dirt for the new house but no house yet. Even though they said they would try to have it here by Thanksgiving.

The piles were just too tempting and the kids kept begging to play so we decided to let them make some fun memories. The dog had to have a chance to play as well so I’m not sure who had more fun… lol.  Everyone had to have a bath after they played because they were covered in red clay and we had an orange dog but they had a blast!

Here are some pics to enjoy from that day:

Pineapple-Orange Drink

My older kids loved this drink when they were little. I always added a little extra water because it seemed so sweet but they never complained.

Potato Cakes

Need an idea to use up some of the leftovers after Thanksgiving? Have you ever tried potato cakes? These are a favorite in our house and we have them whenever we have a pile of leftover Mashed Potatoes. These can be adapted to incorporated a variety of leftovers so clean out that fridge and see what you can find to make up a batch of these.

Mrs. B’s Good Easy Pizza

This is a recipe I’ve had since my high school home economics class. It was always a hit with my younger brothers and sisters as pizza was a rare treat for us when we were growing up and being able to make it at home was a blessing!

Homemade pizzas are always so much fun because everyone can make their pizza the way they like it… yay! If you don’t care for the tomato sauce you could probably give this a try with some Easy Alfredo Sauce. My kids like to eat their pizza with some homemade ranch dressing.

Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo Casserole

I made this earlier this week when my daughter and son-in-law came to visit before leaving… sniff, sniff... I miss them so much already! It was really delicious with some Quick & Easy Garlic Bread. He actually really loved it and requested the recipe so I thought I’d go ahead and share it with everyone!

This recipe is fairly simple to make and you can actually make it a couple of ways… you can use Easy Alfredo Sauce in the place of the ‘sauce’ for this recipe. You can also add in more or less chicken and/or throw some cooked bacon and/or sauteed mushrooms in there too! This meal works great as a freezer meal as well!
