Banana Bread

This is another recipe from the old recipe box… who knows how long I’ve had it for sure? I do know it is a great way to use up any old bananas that might be hanging around your kitchen.

This also works great for the freezer. Just allow the bread to cool completely before wrapping in plastic wrap and placing it in the freezer.

Mama’s Best Dinner Rolls

These are not the easiest rolls to make but these are probably my favorite rolls by far. They remind me of when we would go the Ryan’s and eat many, many years ago. When you pair these with the Whipped Honey Butter and Cinnamon Butter you have a match made in heaven.

There have been many times in the past that I had requests from neighbors to make batches of these for their Thanksgiving dinners. I always tried to make more than enough but somehow we never end up with any leftover rolls.

I probably wouldn’t try this out for the first time if things are rushed because these take a bit of time to make but they are so worth it. I also use my stand mixer to make these but they would probably be just fine with a hand mixer or by hand. These could be made ahead of time and then frozen until ready to bake. Old-Fashioned Yeast Rolls

Try these with one of these: Whipped Honey Butter and Cinnamon Butter Continue reading “Old-Fashioned Yeast Rolls”

Old-Fashioned Cornbread Dressing

I got asked for this recipe but I didn’t have it on the blog so I scrounged around my holiday binder to find it… just in time for Turkey Day! This is fairly similar to my Homemade Bread Stuffing except that it is made with cornbread… that is another recipe I’ll have to look for when I get everything unpacked! You can just make the recipe off the back of the bag and it will be fine!

Fun Fact:

What is the difference between stuffing and dressing?

Well, many times stuffing is referred to as being cooked inside the turkey… hence the name while dressing was usually cooked in a separate dish. Many people in the South refer to it as dressing no matter how you cook it.

Homemade Bread Stuffing – Updated!

I’ve updated this recipe to include for baking it separately as well as some add-ins to make it a little extra special. I can remember getting out the biggest bowls we could find to make this when I was a kid. This was always the best part of Thanksgiving for me.

Make sure to check out our Old-Fashioned Cornbread Dressing recipe too!
