Old-Fashioned Cornbread Dressing

I got asked for this recipe but I didn’t have it on the blog so I scrounged around my holiday binder to find it… just in time for Turkey Day! This is fairly similar to my Homemade Bread Stuffing except that it is made with cornbread… that is another recipe I’ll have to look for when I get everything unpacked! You can just make the recipe off the back of the bag and it will be fine!

Fun Fact:

What is the difference between stuffing and dressing?

Well, many times stuffing is referred to as being cooked inside the turkey… hence the name while dressing was usually cooked in a separate dish. Many people in the South refer to it as dressing no matter how you cook it.

Treat Yourself And Make Housework A Little Easier

I’m always so excited when I see my box from Grove Collaborators  come. This month was a small order as we are pretty well stocked up on supplies but I wanted to share with you what we did get:

Since we are in the midst of the Christmas season I thought it only fitting to get the Peppermint scented soaps. We got one Mrs. Meyers Hand Soap and two of the Mrs. Meyers Dish Soap. We really love both of these products and when we use the Walnut Scrubbers they make dishwashing a breeze.

The cleaners come in a wide variety of scents and I really enjoy trying out the different scents depending on the season.

Moon Day

**This post does contain affiliate links which help to support our blog.

So here I go again…. adding some more days to those crazy and unusual days that I’ve posted about before. This would be a great way to spice up a dull summer day when the kids are complaining about being bored.

July 20th is National Moon Day. It honors the first day that man set foot on the moon back 1969. It was declared a National Moon Landing Day by President Nixon in 1971. This is a great day to teach our kids about the moon and progress NASA has made.

You can find other ideas to celebrate on my Pinterest Board Homeschool: July. You can also find other ideas for other July Holidays there as well.

I’ve also got this great book that I’ll be reading to the kids on this day.

I’m thinking I might even get some Moon Pies and/or Astronaut Ice Cream for snack on this day to eat while they listen to the story. In addition to this book we may also check out some of these great videos and activities listed below:
