Slow Cooker Kraut & Sausage

My mom-mom always made the best homemade kraut. I can remember helping her and tasting it straight out of the crock. These are fond memories for me. I’d love to learn to make it the way she did one day.

I love kraut and sausage but my kids haven’t developed the taste for it yet, I have faith that they will though, eventually. We eat this only once or twice a year for now but if they do decide that they like it we will probably have it more often. Continue reading “Slow Cooker Kraut & Sausage”

Loaded Potato Soup

Looking for the perfect potato soup recipe? Look no further as you’ve found it!

I love soup, especially on a cold day, but we haven’t had many cold days here lately. Please don’t take that as a complaint because I’m not complaining in the least bit. I make this soup once or twice a year and everyone always loves it.

For a lower carb meal we have been using turnips and/or cauliflower in place of the potatoes. Continue reading “Loaded Potato Soup”

Chicken and Rice Casserole

This is an old recipe that I haven’t made in a while. I don’t remember where I got it from originally but it is fairly easy to put together. Pair it with a salad and some rolls to make a great meal.

This recipe also works well with pork chops!

Easy Chicken Casserole

This is an oldie but goodie. My older kids loved this when they were younger. I think I have a couple of other variations that rotate through my menu plan but this was the first attempt at a chicken casserole that I made.

A lot of the older recipes I have are ones that were passed down or ones that I scribbled down on scraps of paper. These come from family and friends. Many of them come from dinners at our old church. They back good memories for me and I hope my kids will also be able to associate good memories to good food. Continue reading “Easy Chicken Casserole”
