Crockpot Taco Soup

A friend invited me over for lunch one day and served this wonderful concoction. I’m not sure if this is close to her recipe or not but this stuff is good, really good. You can also make this on the stovetop if you don’t have a crockpot.

We like to serve this over rice to make it stretch a little bit further. Continue reading “Crockpot Taco Soup”

Whipped Pie Crust

I will admit I haven’t made this in a while as I just haven’t had the time. There was a time that this was the only pie crust I’d use though. I plan to try my hand at it again soon when I make some Fried Apple Pies.

Pie crusts are always something fun that the kids can help with too. My littles love to get the scraps or ‘extras’ that I cut off the sides. They make their own little pies or designs with them. It’s edible play dough! Continue reading “Whipped Pie Crust”

Apple Sonker

This may not be a true ‘sonker’, or cobbler, but this is the easiest way I know to make one. You can also use other pie fillings to make these delicious desserts. Pair this with some vanilla ice cream and it’s sure to be a winner!

The kids can even help with this one. You can use different fruit fillings to change it up a bit as well! Continue reading “Apple Sonker”

Apple Pie Filling

This filling is good for Fried Apple Pies, over vanilla ice cream, or to use for an Apple Sonker. Continue reading “Apple Pie Filling”

Gorgonzola Pasta with Mushrooms

This is one of my favorite dishes however my kids are not too crazy about the gorgonzola cheese. I will either leave it out or add just a tiny bit when I make this and then sprinkle more on my plate as I love the cheese. If you can’t find the gorgonzola you can substitute it with bleu cheese.

This is really good with a salad and breadsticks.
