Mr. Awesome loves Chicken and Rice and so do I, my version is usually a little more like a Spanish Rice version but this is more of how he remembers it from his childhood.
This recipe is pretty easy to make and it’s also easy on the budget as you can throw in your leftovers to make this a delicious meal.
As you may have seen, we have really been trying to honor the Biblical Feasts and Sabbath. A part of that journey has led us to making our own Challah bread… it is so delicious and not too hard to make. The most difficult part for me was learning how to braid it. Here is a great instructional video that helped me:
It’s been a bit since I’ve posted any garden updates on the blog… most of them have been going on our YouTube channel so I thought I’d show you what we’ve been up to:
If you haven’t liked and subscribed to the blog or our YouTube yet then please don’t forget to do that today! Some of our future posts will only be visible to subscribers and we’d hate for you to miss out!
We’re still in the middle of celebrating Sukkot so there hasn’t been a lot of gardening happening. I have a pile of plants to get in the ground and even more seeds to scatter around.
We have several beds to build and areas to clean up… then we plan to make another hoop tunnel to grow on for next year.
We’ve also got plans to build a new chicken coop and convert to old on for quail. We would also like to add some rabbits soon… hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop, and stop… that’s one of Shyanne’s favorite songs.
So many things to get finished but there is only so much time in a day. We just ask God to show us what needs done and ask for the strength and patience to see it through. He provides what we need, when we need it so we consider ourselves extremely blessed.
He will do the same for you, just trust in Him and hand your life over. It’s an amazing experience!
I don’t know what it is about the cooler weather that makes me want a bowl of something hot, but I sure have been wanting some here lately… I usually have my cup of coffee in the morning, and then the weather warms up through the day, so my craving fades.
I wanted to gather our favorites here in one post so I can find them a little easier and share them with you… just in case you have those same cravings! These are also the perfect ‘comfort foods’ for sick days or times when you just feel a little down. There are a lot of chicken recipes, but that’s probably because our bodies crave the healing properties that come from broths, which we use a lot in different recipes.
