Unlike holidays, where the dates usually fall at the same time every year, Holy Days are not set dates. I always have to check the Jewish calendars as the Biblical Feasts vary according to certain signs like cycles of the moon and sun, which I have no way to accurately calculate. The dates can vary, depending on the calendar you use, as the Jewish dates usually begin at sundown the day before.

In Leviticus 23, the Feasts are mentioned, and there are numerous other mentions of them in the Bible. God has sent out our invitations, so we should accept them and celebrate these Feasts in gratitude for all that HE has done for us.

Here are the specific dates for the main festivals of the year:

Passover (Pesach): April 1 – 9, 2026
Feast of Unleavened Bread (Chag HaMatzot): April 1 – 9, 2026
Feast of First Fruits (Shavuot): May 21 – 23, 2026 (often considered Pentecost)
Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah): September 11 – 13, 2026
Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur): September 20 – 21, 2026
Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot): September 26 – October 2, 2026
Feast of the Eighth Day (Shemini Atzeret): October 2 – 3, 2026

Thanksgiving is in a couple of weeks and that means Advent starts soon after… where oh where does time go?

If you’ve been around my blog for long then you probably know that I try to do Advent studies with our Homeschool in place of our regular homeschool activities… this year is no different. I really want my family to be able to FOCUS on the REAL REASON BEHIND THE SEASON… not just the HOLLYWOOD VERSION. This gives us time to enjoy our family and helps to eliminate some of the stress from trying to get it all done.

We’ve been making some gradual changes in our home that may or not be for you. We have cut back on the number of gifts that we give and we try to be more intentional on the gifts we give. Often we will purchase ‘experience’ gifts that we can enjoy together as a family.
