Crockpot Applesauce

I don’t post a lot of ‘canning’ recipes on here because most of what I know about canning is in my head. I just do things the way I saw them done when I was young and I can’t really guarantee the accuracy of all of them.

This recipe here is a good one for canning and giving out as gifts though. It never seems to stick around that long here though because my kids LOVE applesauce and I love that I know exactly what’s in it. This recipe can also be used for the Crockpot Apple Butter! If you decide to use this for Apple Butter you may want to omit the sugar and seasonings.

Potato Cakes

Need an idea to use up some of the leftovers after Thanksgiving? Have you ever tried potato cakes? These are a favorite in our house and we have them whenever we have a pile of leftover Mashed Potatoes. These can be adapted to incorporated a variety of leftovers so clean out that fridge and see what you can find to make up a batch of these.
