Biblical Feasts & Sabbath: A Christian Celebration Guide & Printable Planner

As many of you know, I went down a rabbit hole not too long ago and the things I have learned have totally transformed my life, for the better. Things can still be confusing, and I am by NO MEANS an EXPERT on this topic, but I feel led to share what I have been learning and I will update posts as we continue on this journey.

Today, I want to share with you a little about how we have been celebrating the Biblical Feasts and Sabbath. I will also give you some scripture references for each celebration. This is intended as a starting point for others who may have stumbled upon this as I did. Please do your own research and pray about how GOD will lead you on your journey.

Embracing a Slower Pace: Simple Habits for a PEACEful Year

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well. We are coming out of a cold spell here, and happy to see some warmer temperatures. We have not set any New Year’s resolutions as we want to develop some lasting habits and routines that help draw our family closer. We will continue to work on routines that we have established, while adding new ones slowly.

I have a lot of plans for our family, home, and blog this year, and I pray that GOD will lead me in a way that I can inspire others and help them to create some simple habits that lead to a peaceful year. We will be focusing more on intentional living, making rest more of a priority, and creating a more peaceful rhythm for our family.

Sourdough Challah Bread

As you may have seen, we have really been trying to honor the Biblical Feasts and Sabbath. A part of that journey has led us to making our own Challah bread… it is so delicious and not too hard to make. The most difficult part for me was learning how to braid it. Here is a great instructional video that helped me:

How to Make 4 Braided Challah or Super Easy 4 Strand Braid

Some Feasts require the Challah to be round in shape:

4 Strand Round Challah

This is the basic recipe we use, but I will also include options for making other versions too.

Don’t have a Sourdough Starter? No fear, I will have another recipe posting soon that uses yeast instead of sourdough!

Douglas Talks – Bible Lessons for Kids

I always try to post links to things that we find helpful in our daily lives and this is one YouTube channel that we go back to a lot as my kids really enjoy listening to the lessons that they have.

Douglas Talks is a green puppet who loves explaining the Bible to kids in a fun and entertaining way. My kids can really relate to some of the stories that he tells and it really helps them to understand the message a lot better.

Check out Douglas Talks on YouTube!

They have a huge variety of videos on Bible topics like the 10 commandments, the Beatitudes, and holidays, plus many more. I recently discovered that they also have a website dedicated to this amazing little puppet.

I really enjoyed learning about the story behind the creation of Douglas Talks as well. Why don’t you check them out really quick and see what you think? You might just learn something too!
