Getting Ready for the Holidays Week 11 (Week of Christmas)

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

I’m posting this one a little early. Are you excited about Christmas yet? It’s almost here and the kids are so excited! Here are some of the things that we will be working on this week:

  1. We continue to look for things that don’t belong and get them put away where they belong or get rid of things we don’t really need as we do our weekly ‘Home Blessings’. The house may look a little chaotic with everything that’s been going on but that’s ok, it doesn’t have to be picture-perfect.
  2. We will continue the process of wrapping things up but I’m hoping to be about finished. We don’t normally bring in the gifts until Christmas Eve night so that will still be the plan and we usually let the kids open one gift on Christmas Eve.
  3. I will take one last look over our menu plans and gift lists to grab those last-minute items so we don’t have to be in the crowds any more than necessary.
  4. We will get those homemade gifts boxed and ready to go.
  5. We will try our best to relax and enjoy the next few days with our family and friends!

Life is crazy enough without adding holiday stress to it. The simpler we can keep things, the better in most cases and we are always trying to find creative solutions to things we need to get done. By spending just a few minutes a day working on these tasks it helps to get us prepared without causing a lot of unnecessary stress.
