DIY Hair Detangler

I don’t think I’ve shared this post before but I wanted to throw it out there just in case anyone else finds themselves in need of this.

Where is your donkey?

I’ve been trying to get up early to have some ‘Jesus & Me’ time and I’ve been listening to different people.

This one happened to pop up today after my first devotion and I felt like there were probable others who needed to hear this. That’s why I’m standing here with a towel on my head scrambling for the words to write. I’ll try to insert links to other related posts later today.

How many times have you just felt overwhelmed, forgotten, or stuck in place? You wonder why you keep having all those little interruptions, crazy errands to run, and what purpose does have God in store for you. You may be thinking that your life isn’t important and you may be dreaming of a life you could have if/when your circumstances were different.

This right here hit home! Don’t be upset about those humble, mundane tasks that happen because God is using them to put you where you need to be!

God has already reserved something special for us and He is just waiting for us to arrive at the place He needs us to be! Momma’s take heart and know that you aren’t forgotten! He sees you and He knows what you need!

I really love what she says in this video especially about Providence as we have been reading a lot about the Providence that was evident during the early history of our country. I will be using this explanation to help me explain it better for my kids.

This women also happens to be the woman who wrote War Room, one of my favorite books/movies. I once had my own ‘War Room’ and I’ve been contemplating making another one. This video today has prompted me to make an effort to find a place where I can squeeze a ‘War Room’ in to our current house.

I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did!

I really encourage everyone to have their own ‘War Room’ or area where they can meet with God on a daily basis. I felt like I didn’t have the time or energy but I made a commitment and have been trying to stick to it. I listen to devotions during my morning exercise and shower... using my Bluetooth earbuds when possible so I don’t wake the kiddos up too early. It has made a significant difference in my attitude and energy levels. I have found a new outlook and a new motivation to accomplish things that have been waiting ‘for the right time’… who knows, maybe these are the things that have been holding me back from what God has in store for me?

Adorable Chicken Cakes

I know I’ve posted these pics before but I thought I’d share some of the progress pics when I was making these… I forgot to take pics while making the second cake and the cupcake but they were super simple! These were inspired by Pinterest!

I made these for little miss’s birthday but these would be super cute for Easter as well!

I also forgot to take an up close picture of the picture of the little caterpillar but it was just some green fondant balls with a couple of candy eyes and antennas (flower stamens) added. I probably should’ve use red but Isabella picked out these pink ones.

I have another post coming soon about the cute chicken cakes.

Easy Sourdough Fruit Cobbler with sugar-free options

I’m trying to stay away from sugar as my body doesn’t seem to like it very much and I’ve been incorporating a lot of sourdough into our meals so this was a creation I came up with.

Top it with some sugar-free caramel syrup and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat!

In the photo, I put the cobbler dough on top but it also works well if you want to spread the dough on the bottom of the pan first and put the fruit on top.

If you don’t have any sourdough on hand then you may want to check out my other Fruit Cobbler recipe.

This makes enough for an 8×8 pan.

Ingredients:

Filling:

  • 1-2 c. fruit, chopped or sliced
  • 1/4-1/2 c. Monkfruit ( I like to use the golden for this recipe) or sugar or brown sugar

Dough batter:

  • ¼ c + 2 T all-purpose flour
  • ½ t. baking powder
  • ¼ t. baking soda
  • A good pinch of salt
  • 3 T. butter
  • ½ c. sourdough starter or discard

Topping: (optional)

  • 1 T. melted butter
  • 1 ½ t. Monkfruit or sugar

Optional toppings:

  • Ice cream
  • Caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350. Place 3 T. butter in pan and set in the oven to melt.

Mix the fruit and sweetener together and set to side.

Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. Mix well.

Add in the melted butter from the pan and the sourdough starter. Stir just until combined.

Add the fruit or batter to the pan and then add the other to the top.

Drizzle the butter on top, if desired and then sprinkle with sweetener.

Bake 30-45 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve warm or cold with ice cream and toppings, as desired.
