Momma’s Green Bean Casserole

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this recipe before now. I wouldn’t have realized it if my oldest daughter hadn’t asked for the recipe. I figured I might as well share it with everyone because things are getting a little hectic around here as we have packed up a few things as we prepare for our new home and who knows where this recipe might end up?

One of my fondest memories from when I was little was sitting on the back porch with my Mom-mom helping her with the beans and other goodies she had harvested from her garden.

As I got older I did this with my kids as well. I can still remember when we had a Doberman, named Mac, who loved green beans. The little stinker would run right up to the washtub and steal the beans every chance he got! Continue reading “Momma’s Green Bean Casserole”

The Eagle Has Landed… quite a few times!

This past weekend I went to a vendor event to help my Norwex sponsor. It was a very good experience and I gained quite a bit of knowledge and feel a little bit more comfortable with many of the products I had not had a chance to see in person before… I can TRULY say I am even more in love with this company than I was before and I’m looking forward to doing another event this weekend.

But this post isn’t about what I did Saturday morning… it is about what fun we had after I came home. The booth next to us had this eagle kite that kept leaning over and when I took a good look at it I realized that this would definitely be something the kiddos would LOVE so I bought it for $5.00! By the Shores of Silver Lake Adventure: Language Arts Lesson Plans

These are divided into weekly work as we like to use Loop Scheduling in our home. We simply work on a little bit and then move on to the next subject area. We have four days of ‘school’ and then the fifth day is used to finish up projects that we have been working, for independent study, or fun activities and field trips. Have fun on your Little House on the Prairie Academic Adventures!

Friday Frustrations

First off I want to say that my family and I have been extremely BLESSED in so many ways so I don’t want anyone to think that we don’t feel that way but sometimes those blessings can also cause quite a bit of FRUSTRATION.

For example, to say that this house buying process has been fun would not be quite truthful. Honestly, I’ve never imagined it would have been such a frustrating and stressful thing. If I had known this, from the beginning, I may not have felt the same way about the house. Continue reading “Friday Frustrations”
