Sometimes you have those people who don't really want or need anything and they can be so hard to buy for... just like me. I always appreciate a gift card, especially when it is for something that I wouldn't buy for myself or to a store that I normally go to anyway. Sunday was DS15’s birthday! Yeah, he is growing up. I am so proud of all the accomplishments and progress he has made over the past few years and I know that he will continue to learn and make progress in the years to come.

In case you don’t already know DS15 has Down’s Syndrome, ADHD, and several other disorders that can make life quite challenging at times. These challenges have been hard for me to overcome sometimes as a single parent and they can overwhelm anyone at times. Life has definitely been a roller coaster over the past few years. Buttermilk Biscuits with Updated Recipe

I remember learning to make these when I was really young. My first experience baking them was in a wood stove! While I’m thankful for modern conveniences nothing compares to the taste of those first biscuits I made.

Luscious Four Layer Pumpkin Cake

This is a reblog of one of my favorite holiday recipes…. I love this cake and I am determined to make it this year… I may even make it before Thanksgiving as I really want to enjoy it. It’s kind of hard to enjoy something so yummy when you are stuffed from all that turkey and other goodies from a big dinner.

Maybe this year we will kind of stretch out Thanksgiving a bit and have a few of our favorites throughout the Thanksgiving/Christmas season so we can enjoy them even more.
