What the heck are Pourtillas? Well, they are pourable tortillas… and they are so good and easy.
We love tacos and burritos on homemade tortillas but I don’t really like how long it takes me to get them rolled out so I wanted something a little easier.
Mr. Awesome likes the keto tortillas but they always seem to thin and fall apart, but these are just right plus they are quick and easy to make although I usually have two or three pans going to get them done in a hurry. You can even mix this up ahead of time and keep it in the fridge so you can make fresh, hot tortillas whenever you want them!
If you haven’t checked out our Perpetual Meal Plan – Spring 2024 then you should do it NOW! It’s completely FREE and a lot of the recipes can be found right here on our blog. Plus we’ve got lots of ideas for those special meals that happen during March, April, and May. Hopefully, you will still have time to grab the items you need for the upcoming meals!
Our new Spring meal plan has quiche in the breakfast rotation. This is a wonderful dish that could be eaten at any time of day or for any occasion… maybe even an Easter or Mother’s Day brunch?
Mr. Awesome’s Mom, Granny, makes an amazing quiche and she wrote the recipe down for me but I was a little confused about the directions so I improvised and it turned out pretty good… he says it is very close to Granny’s. The original recipe calls for Bisquick which I don’t keep in my pantry but I do have plenty of sourdough so I used that instead and just adjusted ingredients until it ‘felt right’.
This has quickly become a favorite in our home! I believe her recipe says to sprinkle a little cheese in the bottom of the casserole before pouring everything in but we haven’t tried that. This is also great as leftovers and you may find that you need to make two of them to keep everyone happy! We do leave the mushrooms whole so that the pickier kids can pick them out pretty easily but you could chop them up. You can also add any other veggie or meat that you like.
I know we posted pictures of the mini bread loaves that we made for Christmas gifts and I might have mentioned that we used a similar recipe for pizza crust after my kiddos kept commenting on how much the bread dough made the kitchen smell like a pizzeria… we’ve been playing around with the recipes and finally have something we think is good enough to share.
This may not be the easiest recipe to make but it is well worth the effort and it gets easier the more times that you make it. Mr. Awesome has even said that this pizza dough is the best we’ve ever made and he really enjoys it… that says a lot coming from a former Pizza Hut fan!
I’ve also seen some Bagel recipes that are very similar to this bread recipe so I might try that one day… this may just be a one-dough-fits-all kind of situation that would simplify my life a lot right now! We generally use Mondays as our Meal Prep day but sometimes the only thing I actually get prepped is the bread dough for the week… it is so nice to be able to just pull a lump of dough out and have fresh bread whenever we want it or need it!
Just remember that everyone’s kitchen is different and your oven may be different than ours too as ours has not been acting very well lately but we have made these several times and these are the directions that we have been using. The printable recipe is at the bottom of the page.

You may not know this but January 15th was National Bagel Day and we celebrated by making some sourdough bagels for the first time and they did not disappoint. I have always been a little intimidated by bagels and pretzels but now I know it is actually pretty easy to make the bagels so the pretzels will be next on my list… hopefully before National Pretzel Day. (April 26th is National Pretzel Day, in case you were wondering!)
