Quick Reminder: Free Healthy Food Tips For Kids

(This post contains affiliate links.)

So, if your email inbox is half as crazy as mine, you miiiiiiight have missed my blog post a few days ago about a free live online event that will change dinnertime in your house in a big way. I don’t want you to miss it though so here it goes again!

I’m excited to be connected with Katie Kimball, the “kitchen whisperer” who has taught thousands of families how to cook and tens of thousands of kids to (gulp) use sharp knives safely (including ours). Apparently, her kids actually stay at the table all throughout dinner most of the time – and she’s willing to share her strategies with us! 😉

These secrets will make dinner with your kids sound better than a hangnail, and you can expect more veggies to be going down the hatch than ever before. #itcouldhappen #evenpickyeaterscanchange

It’s kicking off soon – the first event is TOMORROW, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22 at 1PM EASTERN (10AM PACIFIC), so take 20 secs and register now:

YES! RESERVE MY SPOT! https://sl290.isrefer.com/go/raising/happy2bmyownboss/

You definitely should plan to make it LIVE because you get a special gift just for coming (a 10-minute cooking lesson for kids!!!)

If that time doesn’t work for you, you can also catch it on:

* Tuesday, Feb. 27th, at 7PM Eastern (4PM Pacific) OR 10PM Eastern (7PM Pacific)

or

* Saturday, March 3rd, at 4PM Eastern (1PM Pacific)

Here’s a bit of what you’ll learn:

  • 7 Proven Strategies to Make Family Mealtimes Peaceful (even if you have picky eaters)
  • 3 Choices to Give Your Kids That Will Make Healthy Food a Reality in Your House — but They Still Think They’re in Control
  • 2 Way-too-common Ways Parents Sabotage Dinner Without Even Realizing it
  • The Snacktime Rule that will be your new best friend
  • The Biggest Mistake Parents Make when inviting their kids into the kitchen…and how to avoid it.
  • How to Make the Clean Plate Club Totally Unnecessary
  • How to Teach Kids to Use Sharp (or dull!) Knives Safely
  • Plus WHEN YOU ATTEND LIVE, you’ll get access to a free video teaching kids to use knives safely — for children of ANY age. Be ready for your kids to exceed your expectations!

If you’re already registered, awesome! Really try to make it live to get that knife class for your kids, but no matter what, you’ll get the replay, so you can register without checking the calendar and still feel good about it:

We all put a lot of time and effort into being good parents, and training our kids in life skills and mealtime manners is part of it – but it can be hard to know just where to start. I often feel like just giving up on getting everyone to eat what I fix without asking for something different.

So whether you feel just like me or the polar opposite, unless your kids are already competing for the healthiest eater award, you can probably use some encouragement and fresh ideas for meal times (and kitchen prep).

I’m looking forward to hearing what Katie has to say!

See you there,

Susie

PS – The live event is totally free and all online. Expect no more than an hour with as much actionable info as possible packed in to respect your valuable time as a parent!! Don’t miss it! https://sl290.isrefer.com/go/raising/happy2bmyownboss/

Raising Adventurous Eaters – 7 strategies even for picky kids

(This post may contain affiliate links.)

Ah, dinner time.

That moment in the day where the whole family comes together, enjoys a nourishing meal, and takes a genuine interest in one another’s day…

(or maybe…not?)

If your mealtimes feel a little more like Looney Tunes let the Tasmanian Devil loose around your kitchen table…or the princess from the pea-under-the-mattress story stopped by to give commentary on each item on the plate…you’re not alone.

And I might have a solution for you.

I’ve been checking out some tips from the teacher behind the Kids Cook Real Food eCourse, an online cooking class for kids. She’s got so many ideas about strategies for peaceful dinners, fostering healthy eaters, and dealing with picky ones, and she’s sharing them all in a (free!) live online event this week:

Raising Adventurous Eaters: 7 Proven Strategies to End Mealtime Madness and Get Your Kids to Eat Healthy Food (even if they’re picky!)

Katie Kimball, who is a teacher and mom of 4, will show you:

For attending, you’ll also get a free knife skills video from her Kids Cook Real Food eCourse that you can use to teach your kids (of any age!) how to use dull and sharp knives safely, in a fun and kid-friendly way.

Over 20,000 families have used this class to teach kids knife safety and techniques. I’m so excited that you get a chance too (it’s usually part of a $20 set of 5 videos)!

RESERVE YOUR SEAT FOR THE LIVE EVENT https://sl290.isrefer.com/go/raising/happy2bmyownboss/

My First Simply Earth Essential Oil Box

Whew! The past week has been CRAZY here! I mean a full moon almost always causes chaos but a  super blood moon can wreak all kinds of havoc in my house! On top of that I decided to rearrange a couple of rooms… lol… we only have a couple of rooms, right? Just kidding, but just because our house is small doesn’t make it any easier.

Things are finally getting settled down and everything is pretty much organized, well at least as organized as it can be for now, so I’ve been trying to catch up on some things that I need to work on. As I was checking emails I noticed that I was scheduled to get a box from Simply Earth (yep, that’s an affiliate link at no cost to you) and panic set in for a moment as I wasn’t 100% sure that I had indeed received it. After running to the bedroom to check I did find the package safe and sound waiting for me to open it. I grabbed the phone and filmed a quick video to post on YouTube. (See the video below.)

I was so happy to open it up and see what all they had sent me. I just wanted to share it with everyone and what a better way to do it than a video? I love essential oils and I am always trying out new blends and recipes. Sometimes it gets complicated to know what is what and where to get it.

I can’t thank them enough at Simply Earth as they have made my life so much simpler by including almost everything I need for the recipes that they sent with this box. These are all recipes that I will be trying out soon in our home, especially that Sore Muscle Roll On!

So, if you haven’t watched the video you are probably waiting for me to tell you what exactly was in this box that has me so excited…

This February Essential Oil Box from Simply Earth included:

  • four essential oils: lemon, oregano, ravensara, and defender blend
  • menthol crystals
  • coconut oil
  • 3 roll on bottles
  • 1 small bottle
  • 2 inhaler tubes
  • 6 recipe cards

Pretty awesome, huh? That’s not all though as Simply Earth is on a mission to make it easy and affordable for people to have a natural home while giving 13% of their profits to help end human trafficking.

If you want to check out their site and maybe grab a box of your own then use my code KIRBYSKORNERFREE to get a $40 gift card emailed to you after subscribing on your first box (SUBSCRIPTION CAN BE CANCELLED ANYTIME).

If you like the essential oil diffuser in the video you can get yours here and the wooden storage box here.

Note: The only thing that I was lacking when I made up my recipes was some oil droppers. These make things so much easier when trying to measure out the drops precisely. You can probably order them from the Simply Earth site or get some here.

As many of you know I am always looking for devotionals and such for my morning quiet time. I need something that will inspire, motivate, and encourage me on my daily path. This book caught my eye when I was browsing a while back and I knew I just had to read it. It’s taken me a bit longer to get through it than I had planned but it was so well worth the time and I will definitely be keeping this on my bookshelf to read again.
