Victory Garden Planning – January 2024

No catchy title line here… no time for that today as the kids and the dog have been WILD! I’m exhausted and it isn’t even lunchtime yet!

We are almost halfway through the first month of the year and I’m already behind on my garden duties! Granted, we have had some CRAZY weather here and the house remodel has taken first priority but things still have to get planned so we can try to have an even more abundant garden this coming year!

I’ve been working on some Planning Notebook pages soon but for now, I’ll just list some of the things I’ve been working on for the garden. I have been playing around with a new planning program called SEEDTIME. It really does seem like it will be quite the time saver as I’ve been keeping up with my gardening task on notecards in a small file system… quite cumbersome at times.

Special Winter Dinners w/Printable Recipes & Links

I know you are probably sick of hearing me talk about the new meal plan that we are using but it is the BOMB! The only issue the kids have been having is that they don’t look at the breakfast days separate from the numbered days… I haven’t come up with a solution to that yet as I really like having all the days for a week on one sheet but I think they’ll catch on soon enough.

Morning ramblings and storm preparations.

It’s one of those dreary mornings. I’ve been up since way before my alarm as little miss decided she needed a drink and then she decided to steal the back off of the remote as she attempted to turn on her favorite show, Miss Rachel. I couldn’t go back to sleep as she was very squirmy and then my mind was thinking of a few of the remodeling dilemmas we’ve been facing.

I was anxiously waiting for daylight so I could outside to do some storm prep as we have been having some very strange weather here. Many areas around us have actually closed school for the day in anticipation of the severe weather this afternoon. Little Miss has an oncology appointment this afternoon and I’m waiting to see what the weather does as I really don’t want to reschedule it. I’m also hoping the weather doesn’t get too bad as I’d like to stop at the second-hand store on the way home to see about a shelf they had advertised. It looks like it might be perfect for the hallway and I am also looking for a cabinet to use as a linen cabinet.
