Mama’s Old-Fashioned Green Beans

I know that we eat green beans a lot around here and often I mention them with our meal plans but it just occurred to me that I’ve never posted the recipe that we use most often. You can use this recipe for just about any kind of bean. We love our string beans and pole beans like this as well as lima beans!

Canned Pumpkin

I don’t post a lot of ‘canning’ recipes on here because most of what I know about canning is in my head. I just do things the way I saw them done when I was young and I can’t really guarantee the accuracy of all of them.

This works well for anything that calls for store-bought canned pumpkin. We love using it in our Luscious Four-Layer Pumpkin Cake. I haven’t tried using anything other than sugar to sweeten this with but I think it would probably be ok to give it a go. This also freezes well if you don’t want to can it.

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

I believe these are the cookies my little brothers had nicknamed ‘Cowboy Cookies’ but I’m not sure. I do know that they are really good and these can be made into gifts by layering the dry ingredients in a jar and attaching a copy of the recipe to the jar with a little bit of ribbon.
