I am hoping to make a new devotional for each month this year… that’s a big challenge, but it is something that has been on my heart. For MAY, our monthly theme will be PATIENCE. We will be trying to find ways to show a little more PATIENCE through routines and habits.
Note: The reference verse on Day 21 should be Colossians 3:12 instead of Colossians 3:20. (It has been updated.)
Here is the FREE printable, if you’d like to join us:
I had never tried a dry dressing mix for coleslaw until a couple of weeks ago… I didn’t read the instructions so I might now have mixed it properly, but everyone loved it!
Personally I think I’d like to add a splash of vinegar to it, but that’s just me.
Our theme of the month is KINDNESS, so my kiddos made some lists of ways that they can show KINDNESS to others. Below are the top 10 ways that they had listed:
Helping others with chores around the house and/or helping others without being asked.
Using KIND words, no grumbling or complaining.
Doing Random ACTS of KINDNESS.
Having a good attitude and showing love to others.
Sharing with others.
Spending time with others.
Cooking a meal or making a snack for someone.
Talking to people and having a listening ear.
Playing games with others and letting them choose what game to play.
It’s getting close to that time of year when we will be pulling fresh veggies from the garden and looking for ways to use them up.
We love pasta salad and this is one of our favorites… so much better than the boxed kind! We love using our homemade ranch with this as well… just makes it a little extra special!
I’ve been so busy and so sick… these two things don’t go together, but I think I am on the mend now. I’ve missed a couple of deadlines that I had set for myself and I wasn’t able to get a couple of things posted on the blog, but I’m trying to catch up a bit. Maybe I’ve just set my goals too high for this year? I won’t give up on them though… the timeline just might get altered a little bit.
I know I’ve done some videos on CHAOS GARDENING, and I know it isn’t for everyone, but it can be fun. It is also something that kids can help with. I’ve put together a little guide with some suggested seed mixes to try. I also find gardening helps bring me closer to GOD and can really help me when I’m feeling a bit stressed… I combined this garden guide with an optional devotional, if you’d like to give it a try.
I’ve also added some edible flower suggestions to the guide. This method of gardening works really well when you have a bunch of old seeds that need to be used up too… does anyone else have that problem?
